Around 100 alumni accepted the invitation to the first reunion organized by the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering at Kurt-Schumacher-Ring. The Dean of the faculty, Prof. Dr. Robert Kanz, welcomed all alumni to the AudiMax (main lecture hall) and emphasized the importance of this first meeting and the connection between the faculty and its alumni. With Kathrin Janisch as speaker for transfer and alumni management, the important interface between faculty and alumni was created. "I'm delighted that so many people attended - it's a great sign of our solidarity with our university," she emphasized in her welcome address.

Insights into research issues at the HSRM

Guided tours of the hydraulic engineering laboratory, the model workshop, the large-scale laboratory and the faculty's laboratory for building acoustics gave the alumni an insight into current modeling and experiments relating to research issues. At the same time, they were able to feel transported back to their own semesters studied in the various buildings and workshops.

Reunion and exchange

During the subsequent exchange with lecturers from their own degree programs and with each other, connections were further strengthened and new contacts were made. Many alumni met again for the first time in many years and the joy about this and the reunion itself was clearly noticeable the whole time. At the concluding drink and meeting in Wiesbaden's city center, a happy reunion was celebrated.

A repeat of the meeting has been requested many times and will definitely take place.
