Since summer 2022, the DCSM Department has been offering additional support for international students. As part of the DiVine project, a position dedicated to supporting international students has been established in every department at the university.
DiVine – which stands for ‘Sustainable Development of Diversity and Inclusion’.
Through the DiVine project, we aim to do our bit to provide the best possible support for international students at every stage of their studies, so that they have the same opportunities to succeed in their studies and can feel at home at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences and in Germany.
Starting a degree course whilst moving to a new place to live is not easy for most first-year students. Our international students, in particular, face additional challenges: they have to find their feet in a foreign country with a foreign language and also understand the German higher education system. In the process, they may encounter intercultural misunderstandings both at the university and in everyday life, for which they are hardly prepared. That’s why we’re here!
Do you have any questions or suggestions regarding your studies, social life, accommodation or funding? Please feel free to get in touch with us at any time.
Welcome Tutors at the DCSM Faculty
At the Department of Design, Computer Science and Media (DCSM), we have our ‘own’ Welcome Tutors, who are very dedicated to looking after our international students.
Together with the other Welcome Tutors across the whole university, they produce a lovely newsletter, which you can subscribe to at welcome-tutoren@hs-rm.de
