Center for Doctoral Studies in Computer Science

Hochschule RheinMain – University of Applied Sciences and Arts is one of the first universities of applied sciences in Germany to hold independent doctoral degree-granting authority in the subject area of “Computer Science.”

Members

Some members of the Department of Design, Computer Science and Media are also members of the Doctoral Centre for Applied Computer Science (PZAI).

The PZAI is a joint research institution of the four Hessian universities of applied sciences (HAW): Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, Fulda University of Applied Sciences and RheinMain University of Applied Sciences and Arts.

The doctoral program focuses on Computer Science as an interface between basic research and practical applications. In addition to questions arising from Computer Science, this also encompasses the application of scientific methods in Computer Science to existing and new problems across all social, technical, and economic fields, as well as research into fundamental challenges in Computer Science and their interplay with future applications and application-oriented disciplines.
