The SSMT (Smart Systems for People and Technology) Research Center is dedicated to interdisciplinary research and the transfer of knowledge in the field of intelligent IT systems.
The ADRIMA research focus in the arts and design examines lifestyles, ways of survival, living spaces, and media offerings in the networked society, exploring the tension between ethics and aesthetics.
The PZAI combines basic research with practical experience. Hochschule RheinMain – University of Applied Sciences and Arts is one of the first universities of applied sciences in Germany to have the independent authority to grant doctoral degrees in Computer Science.
The Center for Advanced E-Business Studies (CAEBUS) is a small, interdisciplinary research team focused on e-business and digital transformation within the DCSM faculty.
SENSYBLE conducts research on adaptive, self-interconnecting IT systems for future living environments. The project is sponsored by the DCSM faculty at HSRM and the Institute of Computer Science at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main.
Research and development activities are geared toward both maintaining contact with partners in research and industry and facilitating the transfer of new research findings into teaching through the close integration of applied research and teaching. This is evidenced by a high level of participation in funding programs (such as FHprofUnt and ZIM) as well as a wide range of design and development projects—most of which are application-oriented but also include basic research. Another goal of applied research is to enable suitable students to participate in research projects and to systematically introduce them to current research topics in the various departments. Overall, this ensures a solid start to a career in an R&D-related field and facilitates the development of students’ own research projects.
