Departmental Committee on Studies and Teaching
The Faculty Committee for Studies and Teaching (known as the QSL Committee until 2020) is the internal committee responsible for allocating funds to improve the quality of study conditions and teaching
The next meeting on the proportional allocation of decentralised project funds will take place in early 2026.
In accordance with Section 4 of the Statutes of RheinMain University of Applied Sciences (Official Notice No. 779 of 13 May 2022) concerning the allocation of funds under the Act to Improve the Quality of Study Conditions and Teaching at Hessian Universities of 14 December 2021, the following allocation procedure applies:
(1) Decisions on the allocation of decentralised project funds are taken by the Faculty Dean’s Office on the recommendation of the Faculty Commission for Studies and Teaching, in accordance with Section 16(6) in conjunction with Section 16(5) of the Hessian Higher Education Act (HessHG).
(2) The proposal from the Faculty Commission for Studies and Teaching is based on applications which must, amongst other things, clearly set out specific measures and the resulting improvement in study conditions and/or teaching. In the case of staffing measures, the application should, where possible, also include details of the pay grade and, where applicable, the duration of the measure. The proposal by the Faculty Commission for Studies and Teaching must contain the above information at the latest.
(3) All members of the department who are eligible to vote in departmental elections are authorised to submit applications.
(4) Applications must be submitted to the relevant Dean of Studies.
(5) The Departmental Commission for Studies and Teaching usually meets once per semester to pass resolutions on the decentralised QSL funds.
(6) The Dean’s Office may object to the proposal of the Faculty Committee for Studies and Teaching if the intended purpose as set out in Section 16(2), sentence 5 of the Hessian Higher Education Act (HessHG) is not fulfilled. The objection must be substantiated in writing and resubmitted to the Faculty Committee for Studies and Teaching for further consideration. If no agreement can be reached between the Dean’s Office and the Faculty Committee for Studies and Teaching, the Executive Committee shall make the final decision.
