Preparatory Course in Mathematics
Winter semester 2026/27
Dear incoming students in the Computer Science, Media Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Business Informatics programs, welcome to Hochschule RheinMain – University of Applied Sciences and Arts!
To help you get off to a successful start in your studies, we invite you to a two-week preparatory math course. This course will refresh and reinforce your high school math skills, which, based on our experience, are often no longer sufficient for many first-year students.
Since many lectures build on basic mathematical skills, we strongly recommend that you participate.
Contents:
- Algebra: Sets (of numbers), terms, equations, and systems of equations
- Functions: Power and root functions, rational functions,
exponential and logarithmic functions, trigonometric functions - Calculus: Differential and integral calculus
- Analytic Geometry: Vectors, lines, and planes; scalar product
