The DCSM faculty team with over 60 professors and more than 90 members of staff in the laboratories, studios, offices and research projects is looking forward to welcoming committed and interesting personalities as new colleagues who appreciate an exciting, interdisciplinary working environment and a pleasant working atmosphere.
The idyllic campus in the forest above Wiesbaden offers the best working conditions for professors: modern learning and teaching rooms that support didactic concepts such as hybrid teaching or inverted classrooms with their Media Technology and, in particular, a large number of studios (including film studios, photo studios, animation studios, AV and sound studios), workshops (including a wood workshop, metal workshop) and specific laboratories (including a laboratory for computer vision and sound). film studios, photo studio, studio for animated film, AV and sound studio), workshops (e.g. wood workshop, metal workshop) and specific laboratories (e.g. laboratory for computer vision and mixed reality, visualization laboratory, laboratory for mobile applications, laboratory for digital technology, laboratory for usability, laboratory for computer networks) with modern equipment. Teaching at the faculty of DCSM is not anonymous, in many courses the group size is small and project-based teaching in all degree programs of the faculty allows interdisciplinary projects beyond the boundaries of the degree programs.
Accordingly, there is extensive applied research at DCSM, which benefits from the excellent facilities on campus as well as from the academic mid-level faculty. The research and development activities are valued by the professors, both to maintain contact with partners in research and industry and to realize a close integration of applied research and teaching. This is also evidenced by a high level of successful participation in funding programs.
Structurally, this is supported by the "Smart Systems for People and Technology" research center, which focuses on an interdisciplinary and holistic approach to practical research questions in the field of smart, i.e. secure IT systems that adapt to the individual characteristics and environments of users and are pleasant to use. In addition, there is the research focus ADRIMA (Artistic and Design Research in Media & Architecture) in the field of artistic and design research.
In addition to excellent working conditions for teaching and research, the university's continuing education company also offers an environment for activities in the field of transfer; the start-up ambassadors support start-ups by students and teaching staff. Other university facilities such as University Sports or the Teaching and Learning Center as well as internal continuing education (including extensive offers for personal and didactic development) offer valuable services. Not forgetting the numerous events at the faculty, which range from regular academic workshops (e.g. the Mobile Media Forum) to exhibitions, work shows, lecture series, summer schools and, of course, various celebrations.
