Development and Organization of Social Spaces Part-time distance learning degree program

The master’s program “Social Work – Development and Organization of Social Spaces” teaches specialized skills in social space-related social work in all fields of action, such as child and youth welfare at a neighborhood level, disability support in hospitals and in the home, social work with refugees, or work with the elderly in hospital or in the home. The study program imparts knowledge about methods and concepts of social space development and organization in urban and rural areas, as well as skills needed for management roles in the field of social work and in social enterprises. 

Please note: this degree program is run jointly by Hochschule RheinMain – University of Applied Sciences and Arts, and Fulda University of Applied Sciences. In-person lectures take place in Wiesbaden and Fulda, and you will need to apply via Fulda University of Applied Sciences.
 

You will be qualified for planning, management, coordination and research activities in participatory development projects and processes.
Your skills will be needed by independent and local government organizations in social space-related social work. You’ll also be qualified for social work in social enterprises or in international development cooperation. The knowledge you gain will be valued and needed in the development and management of organizations in the so-called “third sector”, in local labor market, economic and social policy, in the community economy, in neighborhood management and in social urban and regional development.

Doctoral studies
Hochschule RheinMain – University of Applied Sciences and Arts has a strong focus on research. The RheinMain Research Center for Professionalism in Social Work (FoRM) supports the next generation of academics, providing them with advice on completing a doctorate. Completing this master’s degree opens up the opportunity to embark on doctoral studies at the inter-university Hesse Center for Doctoral Studies in Social Work.
