The Faculty of Applied Social Sciences employs almost 100 people, including professors, research assistants, lecturers and members of staff in the faculty administration. Under the leadership of the Dean's Office, the committees, in particular the elected Faculty Council, play an important role in the organization. Representatives take care of central topics such as research, transfer and internationalization.

The Faculty Council elects the Dean's Office for three years with a majority of two thirds of its members. This body manages the Faculty and is responsible for all tasks that do not fall within the Faculty Council's remit. It prepares and implements the resolutions of the Faculty Council. Target agreements with the President's Council and decisions relating to structural and development planning are also the responsibility of the Dean's Office. The Dean's Office is also responsible for the organization of studies and examinations.

The Praxisreferat is responsible for legal, administrative and organizational issues relating to internships in the undergraduate degree programs in Social Work; it is the interface between the learning spaces of the university and practice, and is the point of contact for students of the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences, social institutions, organizations and companies as well as teaching staff of the faculty in practical experience matters.

The Equal Opportunity Representatives of the faculties monitor the implementation of the HGlG and support the faculty management in its implementation. They are appointed for a period of 2 years. In addition, the faculty is currently developing a corresponding protection concept in cooperation with the central administration.
