As part of the AngoSAP-Project, a capacity-building project of the European Commission involving several Angolan universities (Universidad Namibe, Universidad de Cádiz, Universidad Lueij A'Nkonde, Institución Universitaria de Angola, Escuela Superior Pedagógica de Bié, and Óscar Ribas University in Luanda), the Universidad de Cádiz (project coordination), and the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences at HSRM, a joint conference was held in Spain in June. Representatives of the department traveled to the project meeting and successfully used the visit to the renowned southern Spanish university to explore and initiate further cooperation opportunities.
The AngoSAP capacity-building project aims to enable Angolan universities to benefit from the experience and good practices gained in setting up psychosocial and psycho-pedagogical counseling centers at Spanish universities. In addition, the project provides the universities with infrastructural and technical support. The Faculty of Social Sciences contributes to the project in particular with its expertise in social space and community-oriented approaches.
In addition to constructive discussions among all participants, in which both the project goals already achieved and the upcoming steps and milestones were discussed, an Erasmus cooperation between the Universidad de Cádiz (Facultad Ciencias del Trabajo) and the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences was established. Starting immediately, students in the Faculty of Social Sciences have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad in the attractive Andalusian city of Cádiz with Erasmus support, provided they have the necessary language skills.
