Analysis of the location-optimized setup of the value chain for the production of synthetic kerosene
azare Lunchtalk in May 2026
Synthetic kerosene is seen as a lever for decarbonizing aviation. The ReFuelEU Aviation Regulation has defined quotas for the proportion of sustainable aviation fuels in the fuel mix. The regulation has been criticized, among other things, because these quotas increase from year to year and would impair competitiveness. The project "Flexibility options for the review of the "ReFuelEU Aviation" Regulation 2026" aims to identify, evaluate and classify viable flexibility and protection mechanisms for the further development of the regulation so that legitimate implementation issues are addressed without weakening the climate protection ambition. Dr. Katharina Göckeler, Senior Researcher at the Öko-Institut, is leading the project. In the azare Lunchtalk in May, she will provide an insight into the analysis of the location-optimized setup of the value chain for the production of synthetic kerosene.
The azare Lunchtalks are scientific input, short and concise, plus exciting discussion partners from industry, business, research and society, a bite to eat and the goal of returning to work after the talk better networked, with new project partners, new cooperation ideas and more knowledge.
The azare Lunchtalk is a hybrid event: On site at the Rüsselsheim Campus in room A009, and online via Zoom (meeting ID 669 8827 6877, ID code: 754889).
