The ReFuelEU Aviation Regulation has defined quotas for the proportion of sustainable aviation fuels in the fuel mix. The regulation has been cr iticized\, among other things\, because these quotas increase from year to year and would impair competitiveness. The project "Flexibility options f or the review of the "ReFuelEU Aviation" Regulation 2026" aims to identify \, evaluate and classify viable flexibility and protection mechanisms for the further development of the regulation so that legitimate implementatio n issues are addressed without weakening the climate protection ambition. Dr. Katharina Göckeler\, Senior Researcher at the Öko-Institut\, is lead ing the project.
