Further questions?

What is it?

You would like to efficiently develop new products and plan, implement, and improve production processes in a scientific way.

You would like to integrate sustainability-related, ecological, and social aspects into the product and production development process.

As an engineer, you would like to integrate current IT developments (such as Industry 4.0, Big Data, FEM, digital twins, metaverse, and AI) into your own working processes and especially to implement data analysis to support decision-making processes into product development and production, and interpret them.

You would like to evaluate business-administration conditions in product design and production and their influence on technical decisions (and take well-founded decisions in real projects).

You would like to expand your project management and HR leadership skills and develop solutions for tasks in company leadership.

Then this is the degree program for you!

The master’s degree program (BIS PD&M), offered to students already in work, deepens knowledge in topics ranging from design, production, technology, and management. It teaches current knowledge and methods, with the focus on the conjunction between various fields in modern industrial companies as well as inter-company value-added processes.

The master’s degree program is structured to be completed in four semesters alongside full-time employment. Apart from the semester fees, you will not have any additional charges. Lectures and courses take place on Friday afternoons and all day on Saturdays.

What can I do with it?

Product development, life-cycle management, and production planning and management are crucial factors for the success of your company, just like the use of management information systems. Shaping change processes and developing organizational structures can be appealing tasks, just like computer-supported product and process planning and manufacturing.

This knowledge of technology and economics, as well as of the interfaces between the two fields, is extremely helpful in tasks with extensive responsibility and is more and more in demand in industry.

Because the master’s degree program can be fitted around working life, after graduating successfully you will not only have professional experience, but will be armed with a higher-level professional qualification as well.

You will have demonstrated strong motivation and a high capacity for hard work when you have completed the program in addition to your professional workload.

Finally, the successful completion of the master’s degree program with the Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) title will open up additional professional and career opportunities which would be closed to you without this degree.
