AngoSAP: Progress in December 2025

We are pleased to announce that key project goals were achieved in December 2025 as part of the EU Capacity Building Project AngoSAP. Centers for psychological and psychoeducational diagnosis and counseling (CDOP) are coming to existence at Angolan universities: Universidade Óscar Ribas (UÓR), der Universidade do Namibe (UNINBE), Universidade Lueji A’Nkonde (ULAN) and Escola Superior Pedagógica do Bié (ESPB).

At the same time, a virtual campus was opened at the Universidad de Cádiz (UCA) in 2025. It serves as a joint platform for training, continuing education, and workshop videos. Previous workshops have covered topics such as emotional management, body image disorders, peer tutoring programs, gender and domestic violence, healthy sexuality, self-esteem, suicide prevention, and relaxation techniques.

Further content was provided by workshops on November 13, 2025, led by Prof. Dr. Michael May, Prof. Dr. Kerstin Herzog, and VProf. Dr. Esther Kronsbein from the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences. They focused on community-oriented approaches to psychosocial support, social relationships in the solidarity economy, and the connection between finances and health in everyday life.

On November 26, 2025, members of the international consortium met at the University of Namibe to celebrate the successful opening of the CDOP there and to discuss the next steps. 

AngoSAP is thus strengthening the psychosocial infrastructure at Angolan universities in the long term and making an important contribution to the training of future social workers and psychologists.
