Proof of language level

How can you provide proof of your language level?

Wiesbaden Business School students should contact the International Office at the Bleichstraße/Bertramstraße location for information.

I already have a language certificate.

You can provide proof of your language level by means of a recognized certificate(list available for download here) (e.g. TELC, Cervantes, DELF, TOEFL, Cambridge or the KMK Foreign Language Certificate). If required, please the Language Center. Please note: Certificates from private language schools or from the Internet cannot be used for this purpose. Abitur (German secondary school leaving certificates) cannot be submitted as proof of language proficiency either.

I have already successfully completed a language course at Hochschule RheinMain.

Students who need to provide proof of level B1 can prove this by means of a grade in an HSRM language course (from B1) with their transcript of completed modules and graded course components if at least the specified final grade has been achieved. Below you will find a list of the levels of all compulsory/elective language courses offered by the Language Center. (Courses in the Language Center's supplementary program always appear on the transcript of completed modules and graded course components with the level clearly marked. ) However, if you need either B2 or C1 English language skills for your application, you will have to take the Oxford Online Placement Test (OPT), regardless of which language courses you have attended. For Spanish at this level - if no corresponding certificate is available - an individual test from the Spanish coordinator, Ms. , is required. For other languages offered at the Language Center, language exams can be organized by appointment through the .

Final grade required to be able to use the transcript of completed modules and graded course components as a B1 language certificate (please scroll to the bottom of the page for a list of all language courses):
in a B1 course (LV) - 2.3B1/B2-LV - 2,7B2-LV - 3,0B2/C1-LV - 3,3

I have never completed a language course at Hochschule RheinMain (or my grade is not sufficient), but I have the required language level.

If you do not have the required grade or have not obtained a language certificate, you can usually be examined at the Language Center for languages offered by the Language Center and, if the result is satisfactory, you will receive a certificate of level for your application. For other languages that are not taught at the HSRM, we try to provide support through contacts with external language lecturers known to us, but unfortunately we cannot always guarantee this help. In the case of English, you take the OPT.

I need the Oxford Online Placement Test (OPT) to provide proof of English proficiency.

If required, ERASMUS+ applicants can take the Oxford Online Placement Test (OPT) ONCE per application phase to certify their English level; students can register (free of charge!) for a test appointment in Stud.IP (more information here). If you have any further questions, please contact the . If you have already taken this test here at HSRM and have reached the required level, you should contact the person who conducted the test to obtain a certificate.

Further details on the Erasmus program can be found on the pages of the International Office under "Requirements for participation".

I need a DAAD form for my application.

For this you have to take the OPT plus additional tests. When registering for OPT (see above), be sure to send an email to the , to register for the additional tasks as well.
