International Week Future Leaders 2025: Strengthening intercultural and leadership skills
In 2025, the eighth International Week Future Leaders invites participants to strengthen their intercultural skills and gain valuable insights into different leadership styles. Participants can expect exciting discussions and an international team of students from Hochschule RheinMain (HSRM) and from all over the world.
The focus is on the exchange with students from different cultures. During the Summer School, the 16 participants will work in interactive groups and activities on the rules and behaviors they would like to establish in their teams as future leaders.
The program also includes workshops on intercultural communication, leadership training, company visits in Wiesbaden and a joint city tour to experience the cultural diversity of the region.
Reflecting on intercultural experiences during your semester abroad
Are you about to spend a semester abroad at HSRM or as an outgoing student? In the Prepare & Reflect course, you will reflect on your intercultural experiences and your personal growth. Together we will delve into theories of culture, intercultural communication and conflict resolution and examine how cultural values shape your thinking.
During your stay, you will create an interactive portfolio that documents your development - with reflections on your intercultural competence, your own cultural model and impressions from your encounters. This will make your semester abroad even more valuable and give you new perspectives. This course strengthens your skills in intercultural communication, critical thinking and reflection - practical and future-orientated for your international career and everyday life.
Intercultural competence (ICC): working successfully in international teams and companies
Intercultural competence (ICC) is the ability to work successfully with people from different cultures and countries. Not only nationality, but also factors such as age, gender, religion and education play a decisive role in how we think and act.
- What is important in an international company?
- How do I deal effectively with teams from different cultures?
- What are the pitfalls in international negotiations?
- How do I successfully lead intercultural teams?
You will find the answers to these questions in our seminars on intercultural competence. Expand your skills to act confidently and successfully in a globalized working world.
Service-learning projects: Deepening intercultural competence in practical experience
We offer exciting service-learning projects where you can apply and develop your intercultural competence in practice. You will work in interdisciplinary and international teams on real projects that not only strengthen your professional and social skills, but also make a positive contribution to society.
This hands-on experience prepares you optimally for the challenges of a globalized working world and enables you to gain new perspectives and build valuable networks.
