Writing workshop - support for students in academic writing
The writing workshop supports students in deepening their writing skills with a diverse program on writing in studies. Tailored to your prior knowledge and interests, you can attend seminars with different specializations, for example on writing project-related theses, effective research or specifically on scientific writing in engineering.

AI office hours
Since the winter semester 2024/25, the Writing Workshop has been offering open online office hours for all students on the topic of "AI tools for scientific work". Whether you have questions or are just curious - drop by without registration! The office hours take place every second Friday from 13:00 - 14:00 via Zoom.
Do you have questions about academic writing?
Whether it's about individual concerns or a comprehensive review of your work - in the writing consultation you will receive support with all aspects of your academic projects. The advice is provided by students who are specially trained in writing didactics. And all without pressure, because we do not assess you.
For example, we can advise you on

- Time management when writing
- Writer's block
- Correct citation
- Structured outline
- Developing suitable writing strategies
- The common thread in your text

A successful start to your studies: support from our student mentors in the peer mentoring program
Starting your studies has its very own challenges - our student mentors know this from their own experience. As part of the peer mentoring program, our mentors will accompany you through your first semester (and beyond) and give you insights into what is important for your degree program and studies in general. Help with math questions
The math helpdesk offers bachelor's degree students support with all math questions during the teaching period. Our student teaching assistants will help you close gaps in your knowledge, answer questions about the lecture material and help you with your assignments.
To the math helpdesk
The higher education institution provides you with the plagiarism detection software Turnitin. This recognizes textual matches between uploaded members of staff and published academic and non-academic texts. You can access the software with your HDS data. You also have the opportunity to watch a short introduction .
