Projects for a sustainable future - Our seminars are all about sustainability. Here you can not only gain knowledge, but also present your own ideas and projects. We also offer you a platform to discover new project opportunities.
Making a difference together, doing good, learning new things and gaining valuable experience - that's service learning at Hochschule RheinMain! We work on social, cultural or ecological challenges facing our society in interdisciplinary projects.
If you need support, our wide range of consulting services in the areas of engagement, sustainability and artificial intelligence are at your disposal. Our experts will be happy to help you develop your ideas and find the best way forward for your project.

Service learning: learning through commitment
Making a difference together, getting involved in society, doing good, learning new things and having fun. Service learning combines subject-specific and interdisciplinary learning with real-life tasks that support social, cultural or ecological projects. Students take on responsibility and play an active role in shaping society. Originally from the USA, this method has also established itself at schools and higher education institutions in Germany. At Hochschule RheinMain, we are actively committed to sustainability. With various seminars and offers, we want to encourage students and members of staff to develop and implement sustainable solutions. Discover how you too can contribute to promoting a sustainable society.
Be Sustainable: SustainAbility Challenge
Would you like to make your higher education institution or city more sustainable? Then take part in our sustainability challenge! In a creative ideas workshop, you will develop your project idea, which you can implement alone or in a team. A self-study course will teach you the basics of project management and you will receive feedback on your project plan. Regular appointments offer support during implementation. At the end, you will present your project and celebrate your success with us!
The next SustainAbility Challenge will be offered in the winter semester 2025/26.
BE SUSTAINABLE: Individual consultation hour on sustainability
Do you have a project idea in the field of sustainability and would like to discuss it? - Here you will find open ears.
How can I create a suitable concept for my idea?
How can I find other students and get them excited about my project?
How could my project idea be rounded off?
We can answer these and of course all other questions in the individual consultation hour.
There are initially no limits to the ideas, they should only be project ideas that deal with sustainability issues in the broadest sense - be it cultural, ecological or social.

Consulting services for sustainability projects
Do you have an idea for a sustainability project and are looking for support? We are here for you!
- How do I develop a convincing concept for my idea?
- How do I find supporters and get them excited about my project?
- How can I round off my project even better?
We are happy to answer these and all other questions in an individual one-to-one consultation - here you will find an open ear and helpful tips! There are no limits to your creativity: whether cultural, ecological or social - the main thing is that your project revolves around the big topic of sustainability. You also have the opportunity to clarify these questions and network with other interested parties at the Open Forum on Sustainability, which takes place every second Wednesday from 16:00-18:00.

Engagement advice and speed dating
Find your project, share your ideas, exchange ideas!
- Would you like to get involved but are not sure which of the projects on offer is best suited to you?
- Do you have your own project idea and are looking for fellow campaigners to implement it?
- Are you already involved and would like to discuss your current involvement?
The meeting takes place every second Tuesday from 14:00 to 15:00 - online or on site. We look forward to getting to know you and your ideas!
To our advisory calendar
Engagement Speed Dating also takes place at the beginning of each semester, where you can get to know all our project partners on site and choose the project that suits you best. The appointment will be announced on the website.
AI office hours
Since the winter semester 2024/25, the Writing Workshop has been offering open online office hours for all students on the topic of "AI tools for academic work". Whether you have questions or are just curious - drop by without registration! The office hours take place every second Friday from 13:00 - 14:00 via Zomm. You can find further offers on the topic of artificial intelligence (AI) on our topic page or in the Learning Hub.
