What is it?

Social Work (M.A.) is a consecutive master's degree program with restricted admission. The core focus areas are theories of social work, current intervention strategies in the context of health care and legal aspects of social work or generalist social work, social management as well as research methodology and, if applicable, preparation for doctoral studies.

The degree program is designed for graduates who are interested in learning more about developments, improvements, and interrelationships in social work from a theoretical, methodological, and social management perspective and who are aiming to work in a senior position in the future.

The course content closely combines theory and practice, and includes a significant proportion dedicated to the field of management of social organizations and welfare economics.

80% of the classes are held on campus and 20% online in order to integrate modern teaching methods and enable innovative learning.

What can I do with it?

Thanks to the content of the master's degree program in social work, graduates are highly qualified for demanding and responsible positions in institutions engaged in social work and are equipped to conduct methodologically correct analyses of social problems within the framework of social work research and, where applicable, to take on management responsibilities.

With a master's degree, graduates also have the option of pursuing a doctorate at the Inter-University Doctoral Research Center for Social Work. More information is available here.
