Mobile healthy - healthy mobile

How health promotion and transport development dovetail in practical experience.

Mobility and health are two fundamental requirements for livable cities and communities. Their close connection is obvious: the way we get around influences our health, and conversely, our health status determines how we can be mobile. Municipalities have influence in both areas: with their transport planning, they set the local framework for mobility; with public health strategies, they promote health.

But how can these areas be linked in municipal practice? How can transport policy integrate public health goals, and how can municipal physical activity promotion contribute to sustainable mobility?

Get in, shop, experience: making urban mobility a win-win situation for everyone

How can city centers remain vibrant when mobility and consumption change? The event will shed light on how sustainable transportation options can strengthen the retail sector, attract new visitor groups and enhance urban spaces. Current projects and practical examples will be used to show the opportunities that open up when cities rethink mobility - and how retail and public transport can benefit together.

Discuss with us - we look forward to your participation!

2 x 3 makes 4...? Planning in the field of tension between disinformation and multiple truths

Today, planning is more than ever a public negotiation process - and increasingly contested. Different truths, perceived facts and targeted disinformation characterize the discussion about spatial and transport planning decisions. On the other hand, the goal of a just transformation towards sustainability also results in the requirement for planning to admit divergent perspectives. Dealing with these phenomena is increasingly challenging for planning practice and the question arises as to what implications this has for planners.

At the joint event of Hochschule RheinMain (HSRM) and the Association for Urban, Regional and State Planning (SRL) e.V., current findings will be presented and discussed - as an invitation to think about new ways of dealing with perception, communication and conflict in planning and the skills planners need to do so.
