Brief project description
The joint project "GesundFDM" is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) with the goal of strengthening research data management at universities of applied sciences (HAW). Research data management (RDM) is intended to ensure the planned handling of research data throughout the entire data life cycle. The development and further development of a powerful RDM system is intended to take particular account of the specific application and implementation-oriented research activities at UAS and to expand the connectivity of these data sets.
The project is interdisciplinary and involves cooperation between HAWs in the health, therapy and nursing sciences, as well as Health Care Issues in Social Work from two states (Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia). The aim is to improve the availability and reusability of research data used there by means of standards in the RDM. The aim is to improve the integration of research data from the HAWs into the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) and the Consortium for Personal Health Data (NFDI4Health). In addition, a community platform will be set up as a central information and communication hub for researchers in the health and care-related sciences in order to establish sustainable practical experiences for the transfer of information and knowledge on RDM. Specific standards and guidelines on RDM will be developed to provide researchers with guidance on how to handle personal health data in the research process. In addition, the aim is to build competence characterized by the promotion of data culture and data literacy in the health and care-related sciences, e.g. by establishing data stewards at the HAWs. The target groups of "GesundFDM" are researchers as well as students and doctorates.
The HSRM is contributing to the project with its professional expertise in Health Care Issues in Social Work and is playing a leading role in the development of guidelines and recommendations on RDM for the health and care-related sciences.
