Prof. Dr. Martin Müller
As Professor of Aviation Engineering at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences (HSRM), I am intensively involved in aviation engineering and flight operations technology, with their practical applications, particularly in relation to innovative technologies that increase efficiency and safety in flight operations.
I am particularly interested in the interface between theory and practical application. My goal is to promote modern technologies in aviation and support their implementation. It is important to me to collaborate with industry and to integrate research results into teaching.
As International Coordinator for the Department of Mechanical Engineering, my focus is on establishing collaborations with international universities and research institutes. This helps to promote the transfer of knowledge and develop innovative approaches in aeronautical engineering.

- Aircraft with alternative propulsion systems: Development and testing of aircraft equipped with alternative propulsion systems. This includes research into electric and hybrid propulsion systems and their integration into existing aircraft concepts in order to improve the environmental footprint of aviation
- Urban Air Mobility - network management and operation: Innovative concepts for the integration of vertical take-off and landing airports into urban transportation networks. The goal is to expand mobility in urban areas through the use of aircraft while promoting sustainable solutions.
- Intermodal mobility, intelligently networked: research into linking different modes of transport to enable seamless mobility. The focus here is on intelligent systems and their networking in order to optimize traffic flow and reduce CO2 emissions.
- Simulation and optimization of flight processes: Development of methods to improve flight safety and efficiency within the ALSIM simulator and the Airbus A320 simulator. This includes the analysis of flight data and the development of algorithms to optimize flight plans.
- Innovative propulsion systems: Research into new propulsion concepts in the context of e-mobility and aviation technology that offer environmentally friendly alternatives to conventional propulsion systems. This includes the development and integration of electric drive systems in modern aircraft.
