Faculty:Applied Social Sciences
Head:Prof. Dr. Eleonore Oja Ploil
Project participants:Prof. Dr. Carlos Juan Schulz
Project partner:Universidad Nacional de la Pampa
Duration:01.01.2012-31.12.2016

Brief project description

The effects of water shortages on groundwater (salinization), the economy and the social life of the people in the region are to be researched using new social science methods and natural science methods. After the first stage of field research, the first results were presented to the specialist public for discussion. This is now to be compiled in a book. In the next section, new field research will be carried out with the goal of developing proposals for possible transformation processes and presenting them to the population and regional policy makers.

It would be desirable if the research methods developed could be transferred to another area/region affected by rapid climate change for verification in follow-up research.
