SUMMARY:Fuel of the future: hydrogen - independent and fair?
DESCRIPTION:We need energy - for ourselves and our everyday lives. Be it f
or the smartphone or the plane for the vacation trip.\nBut can renewable e
nergies such as wind and solar power alone reliably cover our energy needs
? And how can we store energy from the sun or wind? Small amounts of renew
able energy/electricity can be stored in batteries. But to store large qua
ntities for a long time\, we need a fuel that is safe and easy to store. T
he solution: hydrogen! Electricity and hydrogen are two ways of making ene
rgy from the sun and wind available to us without leaving "traces" in the
environment.\nOur lecture will show how hydrogen is produced\, stored and
what it can be used for. For example\, as a chemical base material for the
production of fertilizer or as a raw material for clothing and plastics o
r even as an energy source for fuels such as kerosene and petrol and much
more ...\nThe lecture as part of Hydrogen Week is intended to demonstrate
the properties of hydrogen using various experiments. The two professors S
askia Biehl and Birgit Scheppat will carry out experiments in the one-hour
lecture and\, among other things\, produce and store hydrogen and shed li
ght on its properties.\nRegistration is possible until June 1\, 2026 at az
are@hs-rm.de\, stating whether participation will take place on site or on
line.\nTo the YouTube live stream\, for those who cannot be on site: https
