This year\, the event will be held for the first ti me as a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP)\, in cooperation with the Univer sidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) and the University of Porto (UP).\nNear ly 50 students from various countries will come together on campus to enga ge intensively with the topics of climate-responsive construction\, sustai nable architecture\, and social responsibility in design and building. The focus will be on the practical implementation of a housing prototype for earthquake-prone areas of Ecuador\, based on a concept developed by UPM.\n Together\, the students will construct an experimental mock-up using susta inable materials such as bamboo and earth. At a 1:1 scale\, they will dire ctly test\, analyse\, and further develop construction principles\, materi al properties\, and connection techniques. Through hands-on work on the bu ilding project\, participants will have the opportunity to experience sust ainable construction methods firsthand and to further develop their own sk ills in design and construction.\nA key component of the Summer School is international and intercultural exchange. Students from different countrie s\, universities\, and disciplines will contribute their perspectives\, ex periences\, and ideas\, working together to develop new approaches to futu re-oriented architecture.
