Wiesbaden Business School was founded in 1971 as a faculty of Fachhochschule Wiesbaden - University of Applied Sciences. Back then, the Business Administration program laid the groundwork for further degree programs, which were developed in subsequent years. Since then, the range of degree programs offered has been widened. With more than 2,200 students, Wiesbaden Business School is today’s largest faculty of Hochschule RheinMain University of Applied Sciences. It has its own campus in downtown Wiesbaden, including a Language and Study Center. In the course of its dynamic development, Wiesbaden Business School expanded its academic offering and complemented its traditional old campus building, dating back to the mid-nineteenth century, with a new modern building in 2001. Both buildings are placed around a tree-lined courtyard, inviting you to study in a stylish atmosphere.
To prepare students for increasing internationalization of the economy, the International Business Administration program was launched in 1992. As a student in this program, you are not only required to learn two foreign languages, but also to complete a year abroad. At the start of the millennium, 80 new students embarked on their studies in the third degree program, Insurance and Finance. Thanks to the cooperation with DBV-Wintherthur, R + V and Sparkassenversicherung and the financial support these renowned insurance companies provided for new professor’s chairs, we were able to establish an independent insurance program. Another degree program was launched in 2003, the Bachelor of Laws in Accounting and Taxation. This program provides an interdisciplinary education in business as well as in the field of tax consultancy and auditing. Students can complement this bachelor degree with a one-year Master of Laws.
The world economy is becoming ever more interlinked, especially within Europe. The Bologna Process aims to make higher education systems comparable, so that examinations and degrees can be easily compared at an international level. The Faculty of Business Administration of Fachhochschule Wiesbaden - University of Applied Sciences, as Wiesbaden Business School was named at that time, was one of the first among German universities to realize this vision by offering international degrees since 2003. The curricula cover up-to-date problems in a globalized economy. Obligatory lectures held in English, the possibility of studying abroad with one of our more than 50 exchange partners around the world as well as internships abroad prepare our students well for the challenges posed by today's business world.
Lectures held in modern classrooms, limited student group sizes, state-of-the-art multimedia IT labs and a well-equipped library lay the foundations for successful teaching and give students a business education that prepares them well for specialist and management positions in national and international companies.
