Costs & How to Finance Studying

Estimate the Costs

When deciding whether to enrol in a degree course at a university, potential living costs and fees are important to consider. You can estimate potential living costs by checking out the information provided on the website of the Deutsches Studentenwerk.

Semester Fees

All students are required to pay semester fees for the self-governing student body, theGeneral Student Committee (AStA), and the Studentenwerk.
Currently these fees amount to 70 euros for students of all study locations. In addition, students at all study locations must remit 110 euros for their RMV (Rhein-Main public transport services) semester ticket and 21.34 euros for the RNN (Rhein-Nahe Regional Public Transport) semester ticket. Students are also required to pay an administrative fee of 50 euros and a contribution for liability insurance (as of January 2012, information in German only) of 0.5 euros.

All in all, the semester fee for sommer semester 2013 adds up to 251.84 euros.

The semester fee needs to be transferred to the following account:

Hochschule RheinMain
Account number: 114 043 001
Routing number: 510 500 15
Nassauische Sparkasse Wiesbaden

SWIFT-Code NASS DE 55, IBAN DE74510500150114043001

Make sure to enter your student identification number (Matrikelnummer) as designated use ("Verwendungszweck") so that the semester fee can be attributed to you.

The Act to Insure Equal Opportunity Access to Higher Education of June 18, 2008 abolished tuition at Hesse's universities. In accordance with the law, first-time bachelor and master students are thus not charged tuition.
