RheinMain University of Applied Sciences issues a chip cards as a student identification card.

StudentCard has the following functions:

• it serves as student identification, for which purpose a picture is added
• it serves as semester ticket for public transportation (for the RMV and RNN public transportation systems)
• it works as an electronic wallet for dining halls, cafeterias, etc.
• it serves as your library card

StudentCard works with a non-contact chip that is not visible from the outside.  The contactless reading from and writing on the chip allows very fast payment transactions, which adds convenience especially in the dining halls.
