The goal of policies for the promotion of gender equality is to increase the proportion of women in all areas of the university, but in particular in positions of leadership and in male-dominated faculties and degree programs. The envisioned goal however should not be limited to achieving a merely quantitative increase in the proportion of women.
Rather, the broader aim of gender equality policies is to create a university that is shaped equally by women and men, in which women and men find their interests equally represented in the curriculum and have equal opportunities to develop their potential, no matter whether they are students, teachers, researchers or staff in an office, a laboratory or a workshop.
