In winter semester 2011/12, RheinMain University of Applied Sciences awarded the first 32 Deutschlandstipendium scholarships. Of 199 applicants, 32 talented and gifted students were selected for the scholarship program and are supported by 11 private sponsors.
The scholarship program supports gifted and talented students as well as first-year students with 300 euros per month. Of this sum, the participating institutions of higher education need to raise 150 euros from private sponsors. This amount is then doubled by the German government. The intention is to support eight percent of all students with this scholarship program.
To further expand the program, we are now looking for sponsors who are interested in joining us to support young and talented students.
