The University Senate
The University Senate advises on issues of research, teaching and study that affect the entire university or that are of special importance. It supervises the university management by the President's Council.
The Senate comprises 17 members and is divided into the groups

The members of the President's Council, one member of the Supervisory Board, the director of the Geisenheim Research Institute and the chair of the General Student Committee and of the Staff Council are advisory members of the Senate of RheinMain University.
The Senate is chaired by the university's president.
Term of Office
The University Senate's student members have been elected until February 29, 2012. The term of office of the representatives of the university staff and the representatives of the professors will end on February 28, 2013.
