Students with EU citizenship do not need a visa to enter Germany.
Citizens of Australia, Israel, Japan, Canada, Korea, New Zealand, Switzerland or the USA do not need to apply for a visa in advance, but they will have to apply for a residence permit at the Office for Foreigners within 3 months after arrival.
All other students have to apply for a study visa at the German embassy/ consulate in their home countries. We will send you an official invitation letter for your visa application.
For the enrollment process please remember to bring:
Students will enroll in Wiesbaden or Rüsselsheim, depending on where their program is located.
Please bring all the documents with you to our welcome and orientation day on Monday, 16 September 2013. You will be able to enroll that day. All non-EU students will have the possibility to take out health insurance, too.
Sufficient health insurance is compulsory for all students enrolled at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences.
For all EU-Citizens: please bring your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) along with you. The EHIC will be issued by your health insurance company.
For all other students: You can take out health insurance in Germany (approx. 75 €/ month). We strongly recommend taking out health insurance in Germany as foreign health insurance policies have to fulfill certain requirements to be accepted in Germany.
Please be aware that travel insurance will not be accepted.
All students must register at the Citizen’s Office within two weeks after their arrival. Please register in the Office of the town you will be living during your stay at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences.
You can open a bank account free of charge at any bank by signing an agreement and presenting your passport and your student identity card.
