What is Coaching?

Coaching is a temporary, professional, method-driven form of individual one-on-one consulting that focuses on work-related issues. Coaching is always goal-, solution- and resource-oriented process consulting with the objective of improving the participant's abilities of self-regulation. In a coaching process, the clients determine the topics, and the coach moderates the process by using a variety of different methods.

Why Coaching for Professors?

The requirements and demands of the workplace university have risen enormously in recent years. Together with the overall transformation of institutions of higher education, requirements for the role of professor have changed, and numerous new responsibilities now shape the profile of university teachers. Coaching can assist in professionally filling this role and in preparing new assignments and responsibilities, and it can support professional development.

What Does Coaching Cost?

Initially, for the first five sessions, coaching is free for you. The costs are covered by the university.

What Does a Coaching Process Look Like?

If you are interested in coaching, we are happy to meet you for a preliminary meeting. During this conversation we will clarify whether your issue is a coaching issue or whether we can offer you a different type of assistance. We will discuss the coaching procedure and suggest a coach. Only then does the coach contact you, and you and the coach will determine during a first confidential session whether you think you are a good fit and can work well together. You and the coach will discuss topics and goals, agree on some guidelines and then conclude a contract. The coaching process between you and the coach will take place as you and the coach determine, for the time being limited to five sessions. The process is entirely confidential, and no information about the content of the coaching will be transmitted back to iwib. Coaches' work is dialogic, and you, the client, are in control of the issues and themes that are to be discussed. Should you wish the coaching process to continue, this can be arranged with us.
