The goal of the education provided by the mechanical engineering program is enabling its graduates to independently apply scientific and engineering methods in the professional practice. Practical laboratory classes are particularly valuable for achieving this educational goal. Here instructors provide students with guidance, and students conduct various practical assignment and experiments in groups.

Carrying out such experiments frequently requires the preparatory study of documentations with the theoretical foundations. After completing the lab classes, students present the results and discuss them with their supervisors.

Beyond their use for lab classes, the laboratories are also employed for project work and work on theses as well as for research and development projects.
