Since 2006, teaching at the engineering faculty has continuously been supported by e-learning offerings. In cooperation with several professors and students, engineer Nathalie Jansen, M.A., had created seven e-learning modules by 2009. During the same time period, Stud.IP's relevance to the department has significantly risen.
In winter semester 2008/9, Stud.IP eventually became a campuswide feature and has increasingly been implemented in instructional contexts. It was chiefly the pioneer Geisenheim and the Faculty of Engineering who advanced the project until it was introduced on the entire campus. Since 2008, the Center for Cooperative & Part-Time Studies (CeBiS) at the Faculty of Engineering is in charge of maintaining the system.
In winter semester 2010/11, a further e-learning platform was introduced. The authoring tool ILIAS provides e-learning modules, but also a number of different courses.
For both systems, users use their HDS user data to log in. If you have any questions or issues, contact the Stud.IP support.
Stud.IP stands for the German terms for instructional online support for on-campus teaching and is a free learning and communication platform.
ILIAS is an authoring tool whose easy-to-use WYSIWYG editor facilitates creating e-learning content for instructors. Just like Stud.IP, it is also a free learning platform.
You either enter ILIAS via Stud.IP if one of your courses includes an ILIAS learning module or by using the tabs on your Stud.IP homepage by clicking on the learning modules menu item. However, you can also directly log into ILIAS at any time.
To log into either system, you will need your HDS login information.
The following learning modules have already been created. Unfortunately it is currently not possible to open them because of a technical problem on the pertinent server. We kindly ask you for your patience. We are working on solving the problem as fast as possible. (Last updated: November 22, 2010)
