Current office hours:

  • Current office hours: Tuesday through Thursday 9-12 a.m.
  • Lab opening hours: 24 hours, 7 days a week for students with access codes.

In urgent cases we can also be contacted at other times, ideally by appointment.

Services for the Faculty

The Computer-Aided Design Laboratory supports the faculty intensively in a variety of service areas to support studying and working. For example, we provide information about how to network your laptop, how to plot most cheaply, how to adjust screen colors etc.

All procedures are described in detail on the web pages of the degree programs in the services section. Please read the instructions carefully to optimize your workplace.

Purposes and Equipment

The Computer-Aided Design Laboratory supports the architecture and civil engineering departments in all digital work areas. Instruction in a comprehensive range of representational technologies, from classic CAD to layout and typography, digital image processing, animation and visualization, video and augmented and virtual reality is available. Moreover, our computer labs also offer construction management related applications for tasks such as project costing, structural calculations and graphic simulations with Geographic Information Systems. The computer labs are available for instructional purposes as well as for individual student work outside of classes.

Hardware: The labs provide Windows and Linux workstations with A0 plotter, scanner and A4 and A3 laser printers. Furthermore, imaging technology for architectural endoscopy (still and moving images) and professional equipment (digital and analog).
