The Institute for Social Work Research and Practice focuses in particular on the following tasks:

    • conducting research on social work practice, specifically projects in the region
    • initiating and assisting international projects and initiatives
    • cooperating with professionals from the practice by consulting, assisting with concept development and evaluating
    • supporting organizations with introducing quality management systems
    • organizing and hosting professional meetings and conferences
    • conducting continuing education offerings for professionals

    Target group for the offerings of the Institute for Social Work Research and Practice are social work institutions and organizations as well as social work professionals with a focus on the region. The institute's continuing education offerings provide employees of social services providers with the opportunity of

    • expanding their skills, qualifications and competences
    • taking away stimulation and momentum for their work
    • reflecting their personal attitudes, perspectives and ethical principles

    The Institute for Social Work Research and Practice transfers research results into knowledge in action and uses practical experience for teaching at the university of applied sciences.

    One of the institute's overarching goals is improving the theory-practice transfer by accompanying, consulting and doing research on social work and social pedagogy organizations and their agency in the context of current socially relevant issues and professional challenges within the field of social work.

    In our work, we place special emphasis on imparting gender and intercultural competences.
