Distance Learning Degree Program in Social Work (B.A.)

Social work addresses the diverse and numerous social challenges and issues of our society. The field of social work ranges from developmental and coping issues of the different life stages to factor analyses of the increasing complexity of today's social life. Students of the social work degree program acquire the requisite knowledge to identify, reflect and substantiate the need for action in their professional practice.

The focus of the social work distance learning program (in German) is the education and training of professional and self-reflexive social workers. As such, they command theoretical, methodical, legal and sociological knowledge and master contextual thinking as well as participatory action.

Potential interest groups for the online social work program are professionals in the social service area such as for example preschool teachers or youth workers who want to attain a higher qualification or aim to change their professional focus within the field of social work. For this target group, the distance learning social work program offers studies that are largely independent of time and place and that allow students to reconcile their studies with the demands of their jobs and families.

The bachelor of arts (B.A.) is a first academic degree that provides access to a broad range of social work career opportunities. Based on research findings and scientific methodology, the distance learning social work degree program prepares its graduates for autonomous work assignments in the different professional fields of social work.
