Media Management (B.A.)
The bachelor's program in media management was developed in the context of university internationalization and succeeds the successful media management diploma degree program (Medienwirtschaft). The program was accredited in 2005 and re-accredited in 2010 and has been accepting students at the Unter den Eichen Media Campus since winter semester 2005/6. Today's media management program stands out by its cutting-edge work, by its international and practice-orientation and an intriguing environment with the neighboring programs media computer science, computer science and interior design.
Distinguishing mark of the media management program is its amalgamation of the three areas of study media business, media engineering and media design. By closely interleaving contents from all these areas, the program provides students with a six-semester practice-oriented education as media managers. Students graduate with a bachelor of arts degree.
The current program head is Professor Wolfgang Schiffler.
Instructors, staff and students all place high emphasis on quality and practice-orientation. That is why the courses and the general conditions of studying in the media management program are evaluated at regular intervals. In addition, there are also regular surveys of graduates. The results of these evaluations form the basis of adapting and further developing the program and its offerings. The successful re-accreditation of the media management program in 2010 is part of this process.
