The practice-oriented bachelor's degree program in interior design requires a continuous exchange between instructors and students that goes far beyond imparting the prescribed academic contents. Complex issues are discussed in one-on-one as well as in group settings. Students work in close contact with the program's instructors. The elucidation of methodical procedures is integrated in lectures, tutorials and seminars in the course of the program.

Moreover, for regular personal advising students are assigned a personal mentor from the group of interior design professors by the end of the first year of studies. Per semester, a minimum of two short meetings is standard. At the end of the first year of studies, mentors discuss academic progress and plans for their further studies with the students assigned to them.
