The communications design bachelor's program at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences offers a practice-oriented education with a focus on independent thinking, creative design and socially responsible action.

Students receive an in-depth comprehensive training in media as well as conceptional and design skills. The program aims at enabling students to develop cogent communicative concepts for a broad variety of different target groups and media while find their own distinct and sophisticated language of design for visual realization.

The high proportion of project work provides students with practical experience and promotes versatility, the ability to work well in teams and a strong sense of responsibility.

The wide range of academic offerings couples with the intimate atmosphere of a program with a class of only 30 students per semester facilitate individually supporting and accompanying students on their path towards becoming unique designers in their own right.

Communications designers

• plan and design the implementation of complex communication projects in all involved media
• draft strategic concepts and design solutions individually and in teams
• need to be able to think against the grain and show sensitivity towards others as each new assignment requires taking on the perspective of highly diverse target groups, situations and contexts
• command a comprehensive general knowledge while the issues that need to be structured and communicated permanently broaden one's own intellectual field of vision
• take on societal responsibility and know how to influence using language and images
• work close to the pulse of the time and react flexibly to rapid transformations in technology and markets
